Day Sixteen

We left around 9:40 am from the Kittery anchorage.  There was a very large freighter leaving at the same time as us.  We let the freighter go ahead of us knowing that they wouldn’t be dodging lobster pots but going right over top of them. 

There was a beautiful old lighthouse, still operational, as we entered Kittery.  I got a picture as we were leaving but it didn’t do justice to the lighthouse.

It was a great day to be on the water, sunny and good seas.  We stopped in Rockport to have lunch.  Rockport is where some of “The Proposal” with Sandra Bullock, Ryan Reynolds and Betty White was filmed.  A lot of that film was shot in Manchester By The Sea.  Actually the “Paxton” house which was not in Sitka Alaska was in Manchester.

A short distance away was Gloucester where the movie “The Perfect Storm” with George Clooney was filmed.  I took pictures of the statue and of the harbour where we visited some years ago.
