Day Twenty Three

We left Newport at 9:10 am.  This morning we had a man, certainly not a gentleman, honking his truck horn at us.  Apparently, we were attached to his floating dock.  When we arrived in Newport we contacted the person in charge and we were told to hook up to dock # 5.  Well, he was not happy with us, said a few not nice words and kept screaming at us.  Since we were just leaving, I closed the port door and ignored him.

These are the pictures I wanted to get yesterday.

The sun was out most of the day and the seas were beautiful.  Consequently, we travelled further that we had planned.  These are some of the beautiful sites we saw along the way today.  We saw a couple of ferries and a cruise ship.

Point Judith

Watch Hill Point

Block Island Sound

North Dumpling Island

We are attached to a mooring ball in North Cove, Old Saybrook, CT for the night.  It is very quiet with little to no movement.

Day Twenty Two

We left Bassetts Island in Buzzards Bay heading for Newport, RI.  The seas weren't too bad but it rained most of the day.  There was not much to see along the way.  We ran into quite a bit of fog along the way.  Fog makes the trip very boring.

I did take a picture of  a "tiny" home.  A little small for me but I could live with it.

Pretty small don't you think?

Miss Cora, just waking up from a three hour snooze

There were some pictures I wanted to take on the way in to Newport but it was too foggy and rainy.  I will take them in the morning on our way out and post them tomorrow.

Day Twenty One

We left at 9:30 am heading for the Cape Bay Canal.  The seas were very rough and it rained most of the time.  Not a pleasant trip.  We got to the Canal just at the right time, high tide.

This is at the start of the Canal.  I had to take the picture through the window

This is at the end of the Canal

You cannot travel anymore that 8 kns in the canal.  We were getting a 5 kn push all the way through.  we travelled at less than 500 RPM's and still had a hard time keeping it under 8 knts.

As we all mostly know in reference to Cape Cod, Radar O'Reilly was very excited to visit Charles Winchester at his home in the Cape of Cod.

We anchored in Bassetts Island amonst all the mooring balls, again.

Day Twenty

We left Lynn, MA around noon hoping to get to Plymouth, MA.  The weather was amazing and so were the seas.  We had a very pleasant day on the water.  There wasn't much to see, just open water.  As we got closer to Plymouth there was a lot more pleasure boaters.

This small lighthouse was all by itself with no land anywhere around it.  I found it to be quite an interesting little building.  You know, the kind you want to go and explore.

So quaiant

Coming in to the anchorage in Plymouth for tonight was this island.  Not as much rock around it but lots of trees except for at the end of the island.  Hence the picture.

High Pines

We will see what tomorrow brings, hopefully some scenery and good weather.

Day Nineteen

Not a lot to report again today.  We are still in the Marina outside of Boston.  We did get some work done on the boat.  We were not satisfied with how the canapes were fitting so we redid all the bars and it is much better.

Brian went and got us some ink for our printer and a few other little things.

We finally got the flamingo family put on the window on the arch.

I will post a better picture.  This one has a very busy background.  It looks absolutely wonderful.

Day Eighteen

Not much to report on today.  We are in a Marina and I spent the day doing paper work.  Today will be a day to clean, inside and outside.  Not overly exciting.

This picture was taken when we were in Saint John Harbour.  The cruise ship is just a wee bit bigger than us.  That is us in the background.

What do you think?  We are just about as big as the cruise ship, don't you think?  Thanks to a friend, CL, who sent us this picture.

Day Seventeen

We anchored in Manchester By The Sea for the night.  I was determined to find the "Paxton" house from the movie "The Proposal".  At last I found it.  It is a beautiful home.

The "Paxton" house

We decided to lay up for a couple of days.  We found a marina in Lynn, MA that was just on the outskirts of Boston.  We plan on staying here until Saturday.
